Our US Olympic teams prevailed in round five. The men defeated Argentina 3-1, spurred on by individual victories by Kamsky and Nakamura. The women scored 2.5-1.5 over Slovenia with Abrahamyan winning the key game.

Lahno Wins World Women’s Blitz

GM Kateryna Lahno won the World Women’s blitz with 20 out of 30. US resident and reigning Women’s Champ Kosteniuk took 6th while IM Krush did not repeat her great semifinals performance and ended in 14th place.
