round five win against IM Igor Foygel. This earns Kaufman the final
spot in the U.S. Championship.

Kamsky suffered a loss to Vugar Gashimov of Azerbaijan. Still on plus
one, Kamsky is now tied for fourth with Magnus Carlsen.
In the 10th North American Fide Invitational, Alisa Melekhina won IM, WGM and WIM norms, while Chicago-area IM Angelo Young took clear first with 7/9.
The results are in for the All-Girls-Nationals. Medina Parilla won the Girls 18 Under along with the scholarship to UTD, valued at over 65,000$. Angelica Berrios earned the only perfect score of the event in the Girls 16 Under.
