Players killing time. The Mets reached the park at noon for a 4:25 start. Ryan Church curled up on the couch to watch Caddyshack on one of the visiting clubhouse’s big screens, while John Maine (John Maine is known as a chess fanatic) outdueled Mike Pelfrey in chess and Aaron Heilman got the better of Matt Wise in a heated game of Connect Four. “What’d you get on your SATs?” Wise said. Heilman, a Notre Dame product, didn’t answer.
